A doc is one living doc with one link. Every publish, edit or restore adds an entry to its History.

  • The last 5 entries, besides the current one. Older entries are deleted for good.
  • Saved points: any entry you choose to keep, with an optional note. They stay until you unsave them.

Changes by the same person less than 10 minutes apart count as one entry. An AI revising a doc twenty times in a row leaves one entry, not twenty.

  • In the app: open History and choose Save this point.
  • From the terminal: dockito publish plan.md -m "Sent to the client", or dockito save <doc> -m "…".
  • From your AI: the save tool, or publish with a message.

Open an entry and choose Restore. It becomes the current version as a new entry, so what was current stays in History and a restore can be undone.

Each entry says who made it, when, and how: uploaded, edited in the app, restored, from the CLI or from MCP. When the CLI publishes a file from a git repo, the entry also shows the commit.

If someone publishes while you were editing, Dockito stops your change instead of overwriting theirs. Open the latest and make your change again.
