The CLI publishes files and folders from your terminal, and gives agents like Claude Code and Codex a simple way to use Dockito. It’s in beta: commands may still change.

It needs Node.js 18.17 or newer. Run it with npx:

Terminal window
npx dockito@beta --help

Or install it once:

Terminal window
npm install -g dockito@beta
dockito --help

On a Mac or Linux with Homebrew, without Node.js:

Terminal window
brew install dockito-ai/tap/dockito

brew upgrade dockito gets the newest version.

Terminal window
dockito login

It prints a code and opens your browser. Check that the code matches, choose what this login may do in each workspace (View, Publish or Everything) and approve. On a machine without a browser, dockito login --no-browser prints the link to open elsewhere.

The token is kept in your system’s keychain, or in a file only you can read where there’s no keychain.

Terminal window
dockito whoami # who you are, and what this login can reach
dockito tree # every workspace, project and folder you can publish to
dockito logout # sign this machine out

Make a personal token in Account → Tokens and set it as DOCKITO_TOKEN. The CLI uses it instead of a login.

Terminal window
DOCKITO_TOKEN=dkt_… dockito publish CHANGELOG.md --to handbook

The CLI keeps nothing but your login: no config files, nothing written into your repo. Where docs go is passed with --to every time. Every command takes --json, and dockito agent prints what an AI agent needs to know.

See CLI commands for everything it does.
